Windows 2000 Trials Success
A successful U.S.A. trial of the reliability and cost-effectiveness of
Applica 2000 will lead to a school district standardising on Applica
A number of our early 2000 successes here in the US have been in education.
One of them, Marysville Joint Unified School District in Northern California
is adopting Applica 2000 on Windows 2000 Professional as their classroom
computing platform. Marysville implemented broadband in all of their
classrooms a year ago, using federal funding, and then began a program of
adding PCs to expand the number of available desktops. At the same time,
they implemented an interactive multimedia curriculum for early reading and
math.
As one of our early beta testers, they found Applica 2000 the ideal platform
on which to triple the desktops in each classroom. In the early grades,
each Applica station provides a full multimedia experience to students with
headphones and microphones. Rick Corl, director of technology for
Marysville, has this to say about the Applica solution. "Applica 2000 is a
winner. It gives us a way to provide more desktops in each classroom at a
very low cost, and at the same time reduces the number of PCs we have to
support. We're putting in our first 100 this month, and expect to
implement
several thousand of these district wide over the next year at the same time.
Our classroom software, and even the Waterford early reading and math
interactive learning programs we've standardized on works very well on the
Applica systems. I recommend it! "
